The group, parking a single motorbike on the sidewalk, was observed holding cardboard signs asking passing drivers for money.

Their presence has raised concerns about public safety and order, as they are positioned along a busy road, which local authorities deem potentially disruptive.

I Wayan Narka, Deputy Head of Satlinmas Ungasan, reported that there were around six individuals in the group, including one child. “They are from outside Bali, specifically from Java,” Narka noted when contacted on Thursday afternoon. “We received information around 09:00 WITA this morning that they had been staying there since last night.”

Narka explained that Satlinmas Ungasan is responsible for maintaining security, order, and cleanliness within the Ungasan area. The village also enforces Regulation No. 8 of 2020, which mandates public order and cleanliness, applying equally to punk groups and other visitors.

According to Narka, if there are reports from the community or if Satlinmas itself observes any activities that disrupt public order, such as begging or busking on the roadside, they will conduct appropriate measures. “We ask them to leave Ungasan and not disrupt public order. There are no specific sanctions, just guidance,” he emphasized.

Separately, Wayan Suharyana, Leader of South Kuta Satpol PP, stated that his team had also gone to the location to check. “They were gone by the time we arrived, but we will continue monitoring the area and others where punk groups might gather,” he stated, with permission from Badung Satpol PP Chief I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara.

Suharyana mentioned that this is the first incident of this kind in Ungasan. He noted that the group’s appearance could be alarming to some, disrupting the comfort of road users. Suharyana hopes that such occurrences do not repeat in Ungasan or other South Kuta areas. Satpol PP, along with other relevant authorities, remains committed to ensuring security and public order so that residents and visitors feel safe and comfortable.

Meanwhile, Made Nuada Arsana, Chair of the Ungasan Village Community Institution (LPM), stressed that any activities disturbing public order and comfort should be promptly addressed. He urged Ungasan residents to report any punk groups or other disruptive individuals to local security officials or the Satlinmas.

“If any group is seen disturbing the public peace, residents are encouraged to report it to village security through Satlinmas Ungasan for immediate follow-up,” Arsana concluded. *ris
